David McClyment

David McClyment has been exhibiting professionally for 30 years, in the GTA, throughout Ontario and internationally. His paintings, which typically feature the use of hand-cut stencils, have been the focus of numerous, generous grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council and Toronto Arts Councils. In addition, McClyment’s limited edition bookworks that are designed to complement his exhibition of paintings, have become the focus of many collectors. He is currently represented by the David Kaye Gallery in Toronto’s West Queen West district.

McClyment also has a parallel career as a projector manager, author, and instructor in professional practices for visual artists. He has lectured, run workshops and taught at many of the principal post-secondary arts education institutions in Ontario, including, York University, OCAD, Ryerson, Toronto School of Art, Fleming College (Haliburton), George Brown College, Algoma College University, Lakehead University, Canadore College, and Queen’s University. He developed the first professional practices course for the Arts and Design Foundation Studies program at Centennial College, Toronto. He is currently a professor and Co-ordinator of the Fine Arts Studio Program at Centennial College.

He is daily inspired by his long-time reason for living, Sue Bracken, and their eminently talented son, Jaimie.
