Catherine Heard

Catherine Heard’s research and artistic practice unites the histories of medical science with images of the monstrous body. Her sculptures, installations and drawings have been inspired as much by fascination with the strangeness of the monstrous form as with the contradiction of using fine craft to create abject images.

Catherine graduated from the University of Toronto Master of Visual Studies program in 2005. In 2006-2007 she was appointed Visiting Artist Scholar and Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary. Currently she is a Visiting Artist and Assistant Professor at Brock University in St. Catharine’s, Ontario.
